about
Wrote this in 1991 and only ever had a rough demo, so to finally have this production fully realized is a dream come true. I know the title and subject matter aren't particularly original, but that doesn't diminish the power of the sentiment, especially in these troubling times. Having grown up in the 60's during the time of Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement, so many beautiful possibilities, it seemed, lay just around the corner. They still do. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their artistry to this recording, Al & Es, Amina & Xman, Paul, Aaron, Rob, and of course Jeffrey Lee, without whom this would not have been possible. For all my old friends back in the 6th grade.
lyrics
love one another
soul to soul
this little planet we are living on
it's a fragile hold
and if you care enough to carry on
can't we try to love one another
can't we try to love one another
brother to brother
day by day
it whispers into my ear
love is the way
brings all the angels near
heart to heart
can't wait until tomorrow
it's time to start
you've been through too much sorrow
can't we try to love one another
can't we try to love one another
brother to brother
eye to eye
can we try
why can't we try
yo this little noise goes direct to all the girls
and all the little boys all over the world
it's me and you
ta da, who knew
yo yo what's so funny bout peace love and understandin'
these are the goals we should never abandon
these are little things we all have gotta have a hand in
caller you say what
doo doot doo doot doot doo
oh yeah
and if you care and you can carry on
love is the way
brings all the angels near
hear what I say
can't we try to love one another
can't we try to love one another
sisters and brothers
